Key Responsibilities
  • Transport animals to and from the kennels, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Provide fresh food and water to animals at all times, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Clean animal waste, spilled food, hair, and other debris from the kennels, adhering to high standards of animal care.
  • Dispose of trash in a timely manner, contributing to a clean and organized workspace.
  • Groom, play with, and administer treatment to animals under the guidance of the Veterinarian.
  • Accompany animals on walks, if required, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Calm animals who are in distress, providing a safe and comforting environment.
  • Adjust the air temperature to ensure animals remain comfortable, maintaining a pleasant atmosphere.
  • Report significant changes in animal functioning to the Veterinarian or medical professional on duty.
  • Evacuate all animals in case of an emergency, prioritizing their safety.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience, preferably in animal care or a related field.
  • Experience handling a variety of animals, with a focus on providing excellent care.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Basic math and writing skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to express compassion and empathy towards animals, with a focus on providing exceptional care.
  • Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and public holidays, if required.
