The Newbury Boston, situated in the premier shopping and dining district of Boston's Back Bay, is an iconic property that originally opened in 1927 as one of the first Ritz-Carlton hotels in the U.S. and was most recently known as the Taj Boston.

The building has been transformed into a 286-room luxury hotel featuring 16,000 square feet of stunning event spaces, signature dining experiences, and a reimagined entrance on Newbury Street.


Overview:


The Food and Beverage Operations Specialist is responsible for administrative tasks, floor supervision, marketing materials, and other duties that contribute to the seamless operation of Food and Beverage services.

This role also entails

providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests.

The schedule for this position is

Sunday through Thursday with flexibility.

Responsibilities:
Answer telephone and email inquiries.

Respond appropriately.
Stay updated on the latest computer programs and innovations (as applicable).
Possess knowledge of hotel events, operational hours, in-house guests, and menu offerings of all Food and Beverage outlets.
Greet and escort guests to their tables in accordance with Forbes Travel Guide standards.
Manage reservations and wait-lists, communicating wait times to guests.
Convey pertinent reservation details, including guest names, to service staff.
Oversee seating arrangements and distribute menus.
Perform light cleaning and detailing of the restaurant as necessary.
Collaborate closely with the management team to strategize key service execution points.
Assist with menu printing, assembly, and general office tasks as needed.
Handle departmental correspondence.
Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and/or experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
College coursework in a related field is beneficial.
Computer knowledge and skills are required.
Flexibility and the ability to work long hours may be necessary.

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
