The Cluster Substitute Teacher will step in for absent educators for short durations, typically covering for ten days or fewer. Daily assignments may vary based on the needs of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establishes ambitious learning objectives for every student and regularly evaluates their progress.
  2. Demonstrates a strong understanding of child development and tailors support plans to meet diverse learning needs.
  3. Creates an engaging and inclusive learning atmosphere, adapting teaching methods to ensure accessibility for all students.
  4. Fosters respect for diverse backgrounds and actively promotes an inclusive environment.
  5. Engages with families and connects with students' cultural backgrounds to provide clear learning expectations.
  6. Reflects on teaching practices, collaborates with peers, and supports students' academic, behavioral, and social/emotional growth.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a screening interview and a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Massachusetts Teaching License relevant to the assigned content and grade level.
  • Experience working with children in educational or community environments, particularly in urban settings.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, especially those fluent in Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
