Renal Care Specialist

In this role, you will provide direct patient care in accordance with company policies and procedures. This includes Client compliance programs and contracted hospitals' policies and procedures. You will work in diverse areas of practice, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapies, apheresis, and ultrafiltration. Your expertise will be valued as you partner with the hospital to deliver quality care to patients and create a positive experience for them.
You will assess patients' responses to treatment therapy, making appropriate adjustments and modifications to the treatment plan as indicated by the appropriately credentialed physician. Effective communication is key, and you will communicate problems or concerns to the Inpatient Program Manager, appropriately credentialed physician, patient hospital primary nurse, and others as indicated.
As an experienced professional, you will apply high-level thinking skills to shift patient schedules to meet the needs of more critical patients due to labs, MD orders, or patient assessment. Your ability to deliver safe and effective care in a timely and efficient manner is essential.
Responsibilities include performing all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and documenting where appropriate. You will operate all related equipment appropriately and safely and provide minor trouble shooting when necessary. Additionally, you will conduct dialysis/Apheresis machine safety tests/alarm tests, equipment calibration, dialysate testing, machine safety tests, functional testing, and internal and external disinfection on all water & dialysis machines, and comply with the documentation/notification standards per FMS policies.
A strong background in nephrology nursing is required, with at least two years of experience in inpatient dialysis nursing. Certification in Nephrology Nursing, Apheresis Nursing, or both is highly encouraged. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is also required. The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
