Job Title: Divisional Finance Director

The Salvation Army Eastern Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional Finance Director to lead its finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and administering the division's finance operations, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the daily operations of the finance department
  • Supervise and deploy finance department staff, including hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary processes
  • Ensure the division's financial condition is informed monthly to the Divisional Secretary for Business Administration
  • Serve as a member of the Command Finance Council and as Secretary of the Command Finance Council as needed
  • Ensure maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard assets and reliability of financial statements
  • Ensure divisional compliance with GAAP, with guidance from the Territorial Finance Department
  • Develop and implement fiscal policies and procedures as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational reporting requirements and contract financial reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant
  • Fifteen or more years of accounting experience in a computerized environment, part of which should be in non-profit accounting
  • 10 or more years of successful fiscal management experience with government and public funding sources
  • 8 or more years of successful experience in a not-for-profit finance supervisory leadership role
  • Working knowledge of organizational accounting software
  • Proficient in the development and creation of financial reports
  • Experience in Salvation Army operations is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Able to teach and give constructive guidance
  • Able to work independently, as well as within a complex team
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet The Salvation Army's insurance requirements

Child Protection Clearances:

PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check are required prior to employment.
