Role: Substance Use Disorder Counselor - Outpatient Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Your Role as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a crucial role in the treatment and recovery of patients facing opioid use challenges. Counselors deliver empathetic, high-quality care through individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver compassionate guidance in individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Plan, oversee, and document patient recovery progress.
  • Facilitate group or family sessions as required.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care and treatment.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
  • Assess patient needs and coordinate referrals to additional programs or facilities as necessary.
  • Plan aftercare for assigned patients when appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention support as needed.
  • Manage case responsibilities to ensure individualized care.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and referral sources.
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in a social or health services field is mandatory.
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in addiction recovery or medication-assisted treatment environments is essential.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • If the candidate does not possess a Master's degree, one of the following certifications is required:
    • CAC, CAS, CADAC, CRC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
