Position Overview


As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will independently or as a lead contributor conduct research and analysis of complex data to resolve discrepancies, modify information, and determine appropriate actions involving external entities.

  • Develop and create customized financial reports across various systems (e.g., BI, FIN, Access).
  • Integrate data from multiple financial sources to produce reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze CAP for state and/or federal auditors.
  • Establish and modify payment schedules in OAKS and/or agency systems as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison to address financial inquiries and communications.
  • Reconcile and resolve disputes with external accounts.
  • Assist in updating and recommending changes to fiscal policies.


Grant Administration

Oversee the financial components of grants by:
- Collaborating with program offices to compile, review, and analyze grant application documents.
- Establishing fiscal monitoring for approved grants to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Preparing, updating, and reviewing grant reports.
- Closing out allocations at the end of the POA.
- Coordinating cash drawdowns with internal and external entities.
- Serving as a liaison with federal accounting systems.


Additional Responsibilities

Perform related accounting duties, including:

  • Evaluating personal property and equipment, documenting details such as description, value, and location.
  • Establishing depreciation schedules.
  • Assisting the budget office with forecasting and trend analysis.
Provide training to agency staff on fiscal policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Completion of a graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field; 6 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance, including advanced spreadsheet software skills.


Alternatively, completion of an undergraduate core program in the same fields; 18 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance with advanced spreadsheet software skills.

Or 42 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance with advanced spreadsheet software skills.

Or 12 months of experience as a Financial Analyst.

Or equivalent qualifications as noted above.


Note:
Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may substitute for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience.
