Job Summary
Northern Light Health is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate and individualized care to our patients. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible outcomes and experience a safe and supportive environment during their stay with us.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide therapeutic care to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders.
* Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, and aid in recovery with a focus on social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
* Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
* Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and reporting and addressing environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

Requirements
* High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED) required.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Work Environment
* Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people.
* Work with computers, typing, reading or writing.
* Extend body and limbs to reach items.
* Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
