Job Description:

In this role as a Psychiatric Technician at Northern Light Acadia Hospital, you will be part of a multidisciplinary treatment team providing therapeutic care for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders. The position involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, and aiding in recovery with a focus on social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
  • Respond to patient needs taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Take a mindful and thoughtful approach to all patient interactions, maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Function within the patient care team focusing on successful treatment and stabilization.
  • Maintain a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; report and directly address environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

  • High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
