This role reports directly to the Director of Facilities Operations and involves professional technical work in coordinating intricate technical elements and components of significant projects or operations. You will be responsible for providing expertise in various technical areas related to Facilities Operations and other designated subjects. This position entails taking primary responsibility for complex technical activities within assigned projects, acting as a project administrator or leader, and potentially supervising others. You will coordinate and monitor assignments from initiation through to delivery, ensuring that targets and requirements are met while adhering to technical and agency standards. Collaboration with officials and subject matter experts is essential for the successful integration and completion of projects and operations. Additionally, you may oversee non-technical aspects of projects in conjunction with other project managers and facility staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Initiate, plan, coordinate, and oversee project assignments requiring advanced technical expertise; Develop written specifications and identify sources for services, products, and contractors related to construction and operations; Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate technical specification requirements, advising management on effective strategies to achieve project goals; Conduct research and gather necessary technical data to evaluate plans and activities; Manage technical assignments and projects through various phases including design, development, construction, and maintenance; Troubleshoot technical issues and oversee project progress, interacting with subject matter experts and officials as needed; Ensure project timelines are adhered to and take proactive measures to mitigate delays; Evaluate and report on progress in assigned areas of responsibility; Coordinate essential facilities activities, asset management operations, and programs involving major construction and support services; Serve as the primary liaison for contractors and key personnel on projects; Analyze results, monitor progress, and manage change implementation; Develop technical guidance and training for stakeholders; Examine best practices from other organizations to incorporate innovative technologies; Lead or participate as a technical expert on cross-functional project teams; Report on progress to senior management regarding technical assignments and projects; Prepare and manage budgets and contracts; Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of eight years of technical and professional experience in the relevant field, including one year of supervisory experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with four years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid Florida Driver's License or Commercial Driver's License, as applicable. Flexibility to work various schedules, including emergency situations. Certification in the relevant field or project management is preferred.

Desired Skills:

Ability to perform responsible administrative and technical work in planning and directing facility maintenance activities. Experience in engaging with high-level officials regarding service needs and complex project issues. Proficiency in developing project specifications for facility-related contracts.

Expertise in assigned technical areas; Familiarity with automated project management processes; Understanding of building design and construction practices; Knowledge of management principles and public administration; Skills in problem identification and resolution; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to lead and supervise others; Proficiency in computer applications and software; Capability to manage complex projects and programs; Competence in utilizing automated systems for information management.
