Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Associate - Southfield Sports Arena
  • Manage the opening and closing of the Front Desk in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide professional assistance and information to customers, addressing inquiries effectively.
  • Promote the service philosophy of the City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Department positively; handle complaints courteously and refer to a Supervisor when necessary.
  • Accurately handle and count cash; operate a Point of Sale system; process credit card transactions.
  • Register patrons for Parks & Recreation programs, classes, and activities using an advanced computer-based registration system.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and transfer calls in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Operate printers and copiers as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications - As Determined By the City Of Southfield

Front Desk Associate - Southfield Sports Arena
  • Must be at least 16 years old, demonstrating a level of maturity suitable for this prominent role.
  • Strong organizational skills along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to utilize logical and rational thinking for problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and/or verbal instructions independently.
Additional Information:

The selection process will involve a review of the applicant's experience, criminal history, and an oral board interview. Each stage of the selection process must be successfully completed for the applicant to advance to the next step. Candidates will be invited to continue in the selection process based on the relevance and extent of their related experience.
