Job Title: Peer Recovery Support Specialist

At HOPE Community Services, Inc., we are committed to providing exceptional support services to individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide peer support services, serve as an advocate, and provide information and support for consumers. This role requires a high level of professionalism, ethics, and interactions with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and supervision to consumers at the Urgent Recovery Center (URC) and ensure their safety.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with supervisors and peers.
  • Monitor eligibility status and make applications for Social Security, Title XIX (Medicaid), QMB, and other benefits.
  • Teach and mentor the value of every individual's recovery experience, model effective coping techniques, and assist service recipients in articulating immediate stabilizing personal goals for recovery.
  • Provide verbal de-escalation when necessary and establish rapport with clients, assessing their needs.
  • Advocate for effective recovery-oriented services and assist consumers in obtaining services that suit their recovery needs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines for interactions regarding consumer and family information.
  • Utilize the philosophy of Collaborative/Therapeutic Documentation to meet clinical record-keeping documentation standards.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED and demonstrated recovery from a mental illness, substance abuse disorder, or both.
  • May be required to obtain certification for C-PRSS.
  • Required to complete Therapeutic Options or approved safety training and annual updates.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certifications.
