Position Overview

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is tasked with crafting and executing strategies to attract and retain both youth members and adult volunteers within a designated region, aligning with the overarching goals of the organization. This role is pivotal in enhancing the Product Program initiatives in the assigned territories while collaborating closely with volunteers at various levels to ensure a remarkable experience for all participants.

Core Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in accordance with organizational standards, serving as a positive ambassador for the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with current and prospective volunteers, fostering collaboration among troops and service units.
  • Assist both new and returning volunteers in a manner that aligns with organizational strategies and local needs.
  • Guide the onboarding process for new troop leaders, adhering to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Training Manager to enhance training for new volunteers.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing support to Service Units and recommend leads within assigned areas.
  • Assist Troop and Service Unit leadership in preparing and executing the program aspects of annual Product Program campaigns, aiming for high participation rates among girls.
  • Partner with the Regional Director to devise a comprehensive strategy for membership growth among girls and volunteers.
  • Develop and support recruitment teams in each service area to implement community outreach efforts.
  • Engage with local membership to build strategic partnerships that promote diverse membership growth.
  • Work alongside the Membership team to ensure cohesive recruitment efforts through consistent messaging.
  • Stay informed on trends related to youth and adult engagement, effective communication, and marketing strategies to successfully implement membership initiatives.
  • Participate in focus groups and projects related to membership and volunteer support as assigned.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to all stakeholders, including donors, members, volunteers, and staff.
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost integrity and confidentiality.
  • Exemplify commitment to the Girl Scout mission by representing the organization in a professional manner.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational initiatives and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in various formats, including in-person, phone, and virtual meetings.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze situations effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Must pass and maintain necessary background checks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Effective conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to develop community partnerships and engage in public relations efforts.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds.
  • Capability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
