What does this role entail?

The Head of Cloud Infrastructure Strategy is responsible for architecting the public and private hybrid cloud frameworks that underpin the NICE inContact platform, which supports our suite of high-availability cloud solutions. In this role, you will oversee, define, and communicate the architectural processes and standards for the NICE inContact platform. Collaboration with software engineering and various architecture teams is essential to ensure that our standards are both resilient and maintainable. This position is pivotal in maintaining NICE inContact's competitive advantage by designing, refreshing, testing, and implementing cutting-edge technology to achieve our 99.99% uptime and platform availability goals.

How will you contribute to our success?

  • Ensure optimal staffing levels to meet corporate objectives while minimizing overhead.
  • Establish that the architectural standards and practices align with industry best practices and fulfill the company's security and compliance requirements.
  • Act as a key driver of NICE inContact's technological leadership, providing technical and project guidance on the architecture of our platform and steering the organization toward timely technology adoption.
  • Offer insights into technical designs to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Strategize for future growth across all facets of the NICE inContact infrastructure, including SAN, IP networking, systems, and public cloud computing and storage needs.
  • Lead the documentation of designs and architecture implementations for engineering teams to follow.
  • Ensure that architecture incorporates monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the design, development, delivery, and support of NICE inContact infrastructure.
  • Exhibit management and leadership behaviors consistent with the NICE inContact leadership model.
  • Develop standards, practices, and procedures that ensure consistent architectural methodologies.
  • Focus on employee career development to cultivate NICE inContact's internal leadership talent pipeline.
  • Prioritize, assign, and manage architectural activities and projects in alignment with departmental goals and objectives, adjusting workloads as necessary for operational efficiency.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and personnel decisions within the department.
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board, our governance body for significant architectural decisions and standards.
  • Collaborate with product management to define new architectural requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor the quality of architecture delivered by the architecture team through reviews and other processes.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, instilling passion and energy within the team.
  • Actively participate in the development leadership team to ensure corporate success.
  • Represent the department with professionalism and competence.
  • Exhibit strong leadership within the organization.
  • Adhere to the company Code of Ethics and policies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain, monitor, and support a production infrastructure environment.
  • Support multiple systems or applications of medium to high complexity.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patching, and application versioning.
  • Manage Mail, DNS, FTP, IIS, and application environments.
  • Set up and maintain server system and file security.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Engage in physical data center tasks as required.
Are you the right fit?
  • 12+ years of experience with data center physical and cloud-based virtual infrastructure, including network planning, compute, SAN, and systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS.
  • 5+ years of management experience, overseeing systems, network, and operations personnel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prepared to consult with and update C-level executives on team projects.
  • Ability to set and meet short-term and long-term objectives for yourself and your team.
  • Adaptability to changing conditions and plans with sound decision-making and minimal supervision.
  • High degree of computer literacy, proficient with Microsoft Office products.
