The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing accounting teams, coupled with a strong knowledge of the real estate industry and Yardi software.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to leave a significant impact on our growing company.
Responsibilities- Supervise, direct, and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including the month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, and check runs.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Utilize Yardi software to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with the CFO and the executive management team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations.
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting position, preferably within the real estate industry.
- Proven experience with the Yardi software is essential.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
- Excellent computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
