This role necessitates a full-time presence at designated office locations or work sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure equipment operates within factory standard specifications.
- Guide clients on the usage and upkeep of system equipment.
- Act as the company's representative for customer interactions on assigned projects, including installations and significant component replacements.
- Independently perform intricate repair maintenance or unit replacements in accordance with factory protocols.
- Deliver technical assistance to clients, addressing inquiries about operational procedures, equipment issues, and other technical concerns to reduce equipment downtime and foster positive customer relationships.
- Identify and communicate equipment errors and performance updates to facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Maintain precise documentation of activities and provide regular reports.
- Conduct training sessions for customer personnel to ensure operational proficiency.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians in the field to diagnose and service equipment.
Please note: This is a customer-facing position that requires adherence to client policies and protocols, which may include health and safety measures.
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (such as technical training, military training, or technical school) along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience or knowledge in optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is essential.
Familiarity with the Linux operating system is preferred for system operation and troubleshooting.
Hands-on mechanical skills and experience with electronic testing tools are necessary.
The ability to work independently on equipment and collaborate with other engineers as a team player in challenging situations is crucial.
Additional experience or knowledge in optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is advantageous.
Excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Prior customer support experience is beneficial.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours is required.
Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods, including wearing full cleanroom attire, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses.
Domestic travel may be necessary (a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required).
As this position involves driving for company business, compliance with company safety guidelines and policies is mandatory.
This role demands continuous physical effort, including standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted. Lifting more than 25 pounds will require assistance.
Employees may need to work at a computer terminal for prolonged periods and must be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Mental alertness is essential.
Employees must demonstrate ongoing knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements.
Working in a cleanroom environment is a requirement, including wearing protective clothing.
Employees may be exposed to various atmospheric conditions, such as dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures (within OSHA standards).
Domestic and international travel may be necessary.
