Scripps Health Administrative Services plays a vital role in supporting multiple healthcare facilities, ensuring exceptional care for a large patient population through collaboration with numerous healthcare professionals.

This is a full-time position typically operating during standard business hours. Flexibility to assist in various specialties within the same facility is required.

About the Clinical Team:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient rooming, vital sign monitoring, and assisting with medical procedures
  • Preparation of the clinic in accordance with provider-specific protocols
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and clean workspace
  • Facilitating patient care services that align with the physician's practice
  • Communicating physician instructions to patients or authorized individuals
  • Gathering patient information both in-person and via telephone
  • Documenting patient interactions and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review
  • Administering medications as directed by the physician
  • Coordinating appointments and procedures
  • Ensuring accurate message documentation
  • Routing messages to the appropriate departments for further action
  • Managing order and referral entries, including pre-certification acquisition
  • Setting up cases in the electronic health record system and updating patient demographics
  • Providing support across various specialties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, Medical Assistance Certification, or at least two years of experience as a military corpsman

Certification Requirements:

  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient environment
  • Experience in a specific medical specialty is advantageous
