About the Torrey Pines General Surgery Team:
- The Torrey Pines ENT team comprises a collaborative group of Medical Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Registered Nurses.
- Team members work closely to ensure comprehensive support for the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients and recording vital signs
- Assisting with clinical procedures and preparations
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Facilitating patient care services in alignment with physician protocols
- Communicating physician instructions to patients or authorized representatives
- Collecting patient information both in-person and via phone
- Documenting patient concerns and care provided in the electronic medical record
- Administering medications as directed by the physician
- Coordinating appointments and procedures
- Ensuring accurate message taking and routing
- Managing order and referral entries, including pre-certifications
- Setting up cases in the electronic health record system and updating patient demographics
- Providing support across various specialties as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, Medical Assistance Certification, or at least two years of experience as a military corpsman
Required Certification:
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a specific specialty
