Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of CNC Operators and Set-Up Operators in a high mix / low volume aerospace component manufacturing environment. This role requires a balance of technical expertise in set-up and operation of CNC machining for precision tolerance components, as well as strong interpersonal skills to motivate the team to work towards common goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day priorities for multiple departments
- Cross-train staff on best practices to meet set-up and production run-times
- Optimize processes through the elimination of waste
- Lead lean continuous improvement initiatives
- Run production jobs and provide supervisory management to a small team
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years progressive career in manufacturing of precision machined components in a regulated industry such as aerospace or medical
- Working knowledge of ISO/AS quality standards, basic OSHA/EHS safety regulations, and a commitment to adherence of company policies
- Advanced or expert machining skills in 1 or more disciplines
- Experience leading and managing a small team towards common goals
- Strong understanding of operational metrics such as first past yield, efficiency, WIP aging, on-time-delivery, job cost, scrap rate, etc.
Physical Demands:
The Production Supervisor will be required to:
- Lift/Carry 10-30lbs
- Stand
- Walk
- Manually manipulate
- Squat or kneel
- Bend
- Reach above shoulder
Work Environment:
The Production Supervisor will work in a manufacturing environment with a focus on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
