Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist II to join our team at Houston Methodist. This role requires a skilled professional who can perform a variety of routine to highly complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams of high difficulty, as well as vascular ultrasound exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams, and vascular ultrasound exams.
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic procedures and special ultrasound exams, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level, utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology, and language.
  • Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly, maintaining proper sterile techniques for procedures and ensuring compliance with infection control procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for corrective action and process improvement, providing recommendations, and contributing to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Three years' experience as a Ultrasound Technologist.
  • RDMS-OB, RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, ARRT-SON, ARRT-VS, RVS, RVT, or BLS certification.
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
