About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and assemble surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning
  • Perform decontamination and sterilization of soiled instruments, equipment, and containers according to established protocols
  • Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets
  • Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts
  • Perform regular quality assurance program audits of peers
Requirements
  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) preferred
  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required
