Job Title: Environmental Investigator

Are you passionate about protecting the environment and upholding the law? We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Investigator to join our team at the Department of Toxic Substances Control.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Investigator will be responsible for conducting investigations into environmental crimes and enforcing regulations related to hazardous waste management. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations into environmental crimes, including collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses
  • Enforce regulations related to hazardous waste management, including conducting site inspections and monitoring compliance
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to share information and best practices
  • Prepare and present reports and findings to management and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, law enforcement, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental enforcement or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid California driver's license
