Job Overview

As a Commercial HVAC/R Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial viability of various projects while emphasizing timely execution within established budgetary limits. Your responsibilities will include overseeing two field Project Managers, managing procurement processes, monitoring labor allocations, and coordinating material orders. You will maintain direct communication with clients and General Contractors (GCs), providing consistent updates on project developments and addressing any challenges that may arise in the field. A comprehensive understanding of project progress is essential at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and manage all purchase orders, labor hours, and materials to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Leadership: Supervise and schedule field personnel and subcontractors, ensuring clarity in daily and weekly responsibilities.
  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary liaison for clients and GCs, delivering regular updates on project status.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively address and resolve on-site challenges to maintain project progress.
  • Procurement Management: Order necessary materials and equipment, issuing purchase orders as required.
  • Project Monitoring: Keep project management software updated with accurate and timely information.
  • Budget Compliance: Ensure project margins are maintained as directed by management.
  • Billing Coordination: Work closely with the accounting department to facilitate weekly progress billing.
  • Permit Coordination: Collaborate with permitting officials to secure all necessary permits.
  • Reporting: Compile a comprehensive report detailing lessons learned upon project completion.
  • Scheduling: Develop and uphold daily, weekly, and monthly project timelines.
  • Meetings: Engage in weekly meetings to review project status and address any issues.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist in other areas as directed by management.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in project management, with at least 3 years specifically in HVAC.
  • Preferred Credentials: PMP Certification and familiarity with project management software.
  • Location: Must be able to commute as required.
