Job Description

At Bergelectric, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the management of projects from start-up to closeout, working closely with Project Managers, Sr. Project Managers, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate engineering studies, change orders, estimating, and other activities with engineers.
  • Manage submittals, requests for information, and other project-related documents.
  • Collaborate with owners and clients on specifications, technical questions, and planning stages.
  • Coordinate with regional managers on project status and performance.
  • Create subcontracts, purchase orders, and other project-related documents.
  • Track job costs, predict monthly revenue streams, and manage QA/QC on projects.
  • Identify, research, and resolve contract disputes with owners.
  • Maintain prime contracts with owners and clients.
  • Establish monthly billing procedures and job cost control.
  • Review general conditions costs, subcontractor applications for payment, and material invoices.
  • Issue change orders to subcontractors and assist with bid turnover and project startup processes.
  • Provide status updates and maintain documentation records.
  • Assist Project Managers with submittal compilation, purchase orders, on-site job walk-throughs, change orders, and close-out documents.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of electrical experience and knowledge of construction, design, and cost management.
  • BS in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
  • Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of NECA codes and TIA standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and Company and industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software, Bluebeam, ChangeOrder, Accubid, and BOS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and project success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
