Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Airport Deputy Director, Engineering and Facilities to oversee the planning, design, maintenance, and repair of the Airport facilities and Airfield. This senior management position reports to the Airport Director and supervises the Airport's Division of Engineering and Facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation of facilities for the airport, including budgeting, procurement, and maintenance of buildings, structures, and related equipment.
  • Manage the staff group, oversee work assignments, and address employment needs accordingly.
  • Provide project management and planning for department construction projects, including design, bidding, and construction of capital improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and interact with building committees, City Departments, the Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Transit Authority, and other local, state, and federal agencies as needed.
  • Monitor and direct contractors engaged in construction, coordinate all construction activities, and perform complete inspections and tests.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the State of Maine within 6 months of hire.
  • Hold a Maine driver's license and have and maintain a good driving record.
  • Able to pass and maintain a TSA Criminal Background Check in accordance with TSR Part 1542 to acquire and maintain an airport security badge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 5 years of experience managing facilities, design, and construction professionals.
  • Experience specifying, installing, operating, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems for a large industrial facility.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word software.
