We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Event Coordinator to join our team at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. As a key member of our sales and event coordination team, you will be responsible for responding to business opportunities, actively selling our facilities and services, and coordinating events from initial contact to closure.
Key Responsibilities- Sales and Event Coordination: Respond promptly to business opportunities, research facility availability, and actively sell our facilities and services.
- Event Management: Book events, manage event details, and coordinate with clients to ensure successful event execution.
- Administrative Tasks: Prepare proposals, reserve space, review and approve financial charges, and maintain accurate client records.
- Event Support: Collaborate with event teams, provide on-site event support, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Other Duties: Participate in training new event coordinators, serve as a resource for colleagues, and identify additional business opportunities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in event coordination, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
This is a full-time position that requires working Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team to fulfill our contractual obligations.
What We OfferThe University of Georgia offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
