Job Summary

Catholic Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms for use, ensuring they are disinfected and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Prep patient charts with pre-visit planning, reviewing the next day's schedule and identifying gaps in care.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and direct patient flow for maximum efficiency.
  • Collect and document patient information, clinical data, and vital signs.
  • Obtain additional data from patients/significant others, EKG/lab/diagnostic test results, and historical data.
  • Report findings to providers, recognizing abnormal findings or changes in condition.
  • Confirm and clarify written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
  • Collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens for on-site and remote-site testing.
  • Track and enter results in medical records, performing quality control for waived testing and log maintenance.
  • Assist with front office duties, including greeting patients, answering phones, and verifying insurances.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years documented medical assistant experience and completion of the CH Medical Assistant Assessment.
  • BCLS training and current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency with care tasks such as phlebotomy, aseptic technique, etc.
