Job Overview

Church of the King is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ministry Financial Specialist to join our Accounting Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks to support the ministry's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the financial coordination of Global Missions Travel
  • Contribute to the weekly accounting of tithes and offerings contributed to the ministry
  • Support special ministry projects
  • Collaborate with personnel from all ministries regarding purchases
  • Perform day-to-day accounting responsibilities, including:
  1. Creating invoices and posting payments
  2. Posting invoices
  3. Identifying and resolving discrepancies
  4. Reconciling GL accounts and preparing journal entries
  5. Reconciling banking statements
  6. Completing the month-end closing process
  7. Managing fixed assets, including physical inventory
  8. Coordinating the annual audit
  9. Managing revenue accounting
  10. Performing other duties as requested

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship with Christ and commitment to living a life of service
  • Ability to live a life of integrity and purity
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in accounting or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Prior accounting experience in a ministry setting is preferred
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Office applications

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting required, with at least five years of general ledger experience preferred.
