Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Summary:
The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for testing, repairing, and inspecting fire detection systems. This role requires exceptional service skills to provide top-notch support to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis.
  • Complete all services following manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Schedule inspections with customers as required.
  • Provide documentation of inspections for Company records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required.
  • Communicate discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to the Company and the customer.
  • Follow up to ensure that suggested repairs to systems are performed.
  • Market services to existing and potential customers.
  • Train Technician Trainees as assigned.
  • Commit to work until obligations are met, which may result in overtime.
  • Complete continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for position.
  • Adhere to ALL Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in fire protection systems.
  • Minimum Level II NICET certification in desired field required (or the ability to obtain Level II within the first 18 months of employment), OR
  • The equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull.
  • Education, experience, and certification as specified in the job description (or equivalent combination).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to handle change, resolve conflict, and solve problems as they arise with minimal direction.
