Job Title: Teacher - Gluck Child Care

At Scripps Health, we are committed to providing exceptional care and education to our young patients. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our team at the Gluck Child Care Center.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children aged 3 months to 6 years. This includes creating a safe and nurturing environment, planning and implementing engaging activities, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and education to children, taking into account their unique needs and abilities.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure seamless care and education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 12 semester units in college-level Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education.
  • 6 months of work experience in a licensed childcare program.
  • Ability to lift a child weighing up to 50 lbs. and respond physically to a child's needs.
  • Infant and Child CPR/First Aid certification through AHA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.A./A.A. Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
  • 2 years of experience in a childcare setting working with young children.
  • Knowledge of Piaget's Child Development theory.
