The Billing Specialist plays a critical role in the financial services industry, serving as an expert in billing processes and procedures. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Become the knowledge expert in all billing-related functions, including technology systems and business processes.
- Serve as the primary contact for daily billing-related inquiries and provide guidance and solutions.
- Work directly with internal business departments, advisors, custodian business partners, and outside vendors to research and resolve billing inquiries.
- Communicate complex billing issues or solutions directly with advisors and facilitate all billing requests.
- Proactively communicate with internal teams on the status of fee payments and other pertinent billing information.
- Develop and communicate process and procedures for billing-related activities to internal teams and external partners.
- Manage monthly billing cycles, identify business process improvements, and implement changes as needed.
- Process client billing instructions from CRM and/or the team inbox, prepare quarterly and monthly invoices, and process corrections, refunds, and adjustments.
- Assist with financial audits and other projects as needed.
- 2+ years of billing experience in the financial services industry.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work.
- Self-motivated problem solver with excellent analytical skills and ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to verbally deliver complex solutions via phone and email.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
