Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Intuitive Surgical. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing complex technical maintenance, repair, and testing on digital and analog electronic components, electrical and electro-mechanical components, and systems to support our robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Testing: Perform skilled technical maintenance, repair, and testing on complex digital and analog electronic components, electrical and electro-mechanical components, and systems to support our robotic systems.
  • Diagnostic Analysis: Regularly use diagnostic software to localize equipment and system problems, and utilize specialized testing equipment, analyzers, digital oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, clocks, timers, calipers, voltmeters, power supplies, and other test equipment as required.
  • Quality Inspection: Conduct quality inspection of own or other's work to ensure workmanship standards are met.
  • Documentation: Properly document findings and maintain accurate records of repairs and testing.
  • Communication: Communicate status of repairs with runs/supervisors and other departments as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum High school diploma and AA or equivalent; Minimum of AA or college degree preferred; 1-2 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and understand English; Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos; Ability to write correspondence; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, supervisors, or engineers.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to do basic math.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply reasoned understanding to carry out instructions; Ability to deal with situations with several variables; Ability to report actual or potential quality issues; Ability to suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in use of personal computers as part of daily work, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and SAP ERP System, ACCS (Agile) system (our quality system) to retrieve and submit on-line documentation.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to lift up to 50lbs; Able to use office and test equipment in a typical office/light manufacturing environment; Repetitive motion; Substantial continual motion; Excellent hand-eye coordination; Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, depth, and ability to adjust focus.
