Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Birchstone. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties and providing exceptional service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute and participate in regular and preventative maintenance programs to ensure the upkeep of our properties.
  • Service Requests: Receive and complete service requests in a timely manner, ensuring all required repairs and improvements are made prior to resident move-in.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Identify, diagnose, and repair issues related to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems.
  • Grounds and Amenities: Maintain the grounds, common areas, and amenities to meet or exceed Birchstone standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of tools, equipment, supplies, and parts needed to complete service requests.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with the Service Manager, community team members, and residents.
  • On-Call Shifts: Work on-call shifts/schedules to assist with both resident and property emergencies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; six (6) months of work experience or training in maintenance required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: HVAC type 1 and type 2 certifications required; Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess demonstrated effective written and verbal communications skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Capital Improvement Projects: Experience in capital improvement projects and remodeling preferred.
  • Bilingual Ability: Bilingual ability in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
