We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson. As a key member of our Philadelphia Construction Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Gather and maintain record documents, including field notes and computations.
- High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
- 1-4 years of construction inspection experience
- Active driver's license
- Computer proficiency
- NICET Level 1 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
- NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5
- Associates or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
The work is performed in the field, and the ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
