Job Overview

Armand Corporation, a leading M/WBE Construction Management firm, is seeking a full-time Water Utilities Construction Inspector to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the field of construction relating to water utilities inspection and reside in the Philadelphia, PA area.

This is a full-time, on-site position that requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting water and sewer lines to ensure compliance with municipal requirements, specifications, and contracts.
  • Performing inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Preparing written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
  • Reviewing and marking plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed.
  • Supporting the Project Manager/Resident Engineer with RFIs and Authorized Work Order (AWOs).
  • Observing work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations.
  • Prioritizing conflicting needs; handling matters expeditiously; and following through on projects to successful completion.
  • Communicating with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.

Qualifications include:

  • Prior experience with water utilities construction, engineering, or architecture is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or in a related field required.
  • 3 or more years of experience in construction supervision/inspection.
  • OSHA 10 at minimum (additional training will be provided, if required).
  • Knowledge of PWD Main Standards 1985, PWD Standard Sewer Details Engineering, PWD Field Inspector Guide, and Green Master Specifications is a plus but training will be provided, if required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
