Job Title: Home Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Home Inspector to join our team at Capital Access, Inc. in the Philadelphia market. As a Home Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of residential properties in the Delaware Valley of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Job Summary

The Home Inspector will conduct thorough inspections of owner-occupied homes to identify any violations or deficiencies in habitability, accessibility, and energy efficiency. You will generate detailed reports on inspection findings, including estimated costs of repair using Xactimate and other Digital GC tools. Additionally, you will provide advice and guidance to homeowners, construction managers, case managers, and general contractors to bring properties into compliance with governmental standards.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of residential properties to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Generate detailed reports on inspection findings, including estimated costs of repair.
  • Provide advice and guidance to homeowners, construction managers, case managers, and general contractors.
  • Follow-up inspections to ensure that safety, functionality, and quality of home repair and energy retrofit work has been completed as specified.
  • Maintain records of inspections, findings, and actions taken within the CAPGEMS platform.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or minimum of a professional certification course or two (2) year Housing Inspector or related job experience.
  • Must be meticulous to ensure all aspects of construction meet codes and regulations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with homeowners, construction managers, case managers, and general contractors.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.

This is an Exempt, At-Will professional full-time employee position. The Home Inspector must have access to a safe automobile and adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself from potential hazards at owner-occupied homes and construction sites.
