We are currently looking for an Underwriter for Binding Authority Renewals to enhance our team. This position offers flexibility in location.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Evaluate and process insurance renewal applications to assess, categorize, and rate clients for coverage, making informed decisions on acceptance or rejection of applications through the following tasks:

  • Analyze renewal applications to ensure accuracy for underwriting decisions.
  • Determine appropriate renewal underwriting actions.
  • Accept or decline risks based on thorough personal analysis.
  • Examine all risks associated with new and renewal business for any potential legal exposure.
  • Develop strategies for policy promotion or process enhancements.
  • Possibly mentor or oversee junior team members.
  • Verify accurate and complete coding.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Control standards.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
  • Collaborate with Brokers on unique coverage needs.
  • Stay informed about all available markets to optimize negotiation opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Outstanding telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A) from an accredited institution.
  • 220 License.
  • Experience in excess and surplus lines underwriting is advantageous.
