Primary Function

The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and structural components in both workshop and field settings.

Tools and Equipment Utilized

Electric and pneumatic drills, grinders, overhead cranes, welding and cutting tools, water and air hoses, along with standard repair hand tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interprets engineering schematics, sketches, work orders, and verbal instructions.
  • Installs, disassembles, repairs, fabricates, lubricates, maintains structures, and installs machinery and components as needed.
  • Conducts minor welding, cutting, and burning tasks as necessary.
  • Performs inspections and cleans machinery according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Acquires necessary materials and components for equipment repairs.
  • Handles loading and unloading of materials and components for repairs.
  • Reports any machinery malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and work areas.
  • Documents relevant information pertaining to work as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years' experience as a "B" Mechanic.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Must possess the necessary hand tools to fulfill the job requirements.
  • Capability to lift moderately heavy items, climb, and stand for extended durations.
