Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Full-time Radiation Registered Nurse (RN) to become part of our esteemed team. This role is pivotal in supporting our operations.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, ensuring no weekend, call, or major holiday commitments.

This position may be classified as Level 2 or Senior, depending on the candidate's qualifications.

Key Responsibilities of the Radiation Registered Nurse (RN)


Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards for specialty regulations.

The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of care and actively participate in company-wide quality initiatives. Compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care in line with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding their current condition and medical history.
  • Evaluate patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
  • Offer psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient phone inquiries as necessary and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care.
  • Assist patients in identifying available community resources.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams.
  • Serve as a resource for LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Radiation Registered Nurse (RN) position will possess the following qualifications:

Level 2:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.

Senior Level (in addition to Level 2 requirements):
  • Five years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
