Position Overview:
HomeSafe Alliance is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Accounting Manager with various aspects of General Accounting, Payroll, Employee Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Accounts Payable.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately record journal entries within your designated area of responsibility.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring thorough and timely reconciliations with clear explanations for any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the monthly closing process by preparing or approving month-end journal entries and addressing potential issues that may arise.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports and analyses for internal and external auditors, responding to periodic information requests.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation to support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Identify and implement technological enhancements and Excel shortcuts to optimize financial processes and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to HomeSafe accounting policies and business practices.
  • Support the Transaction Services department with transaction recording.
  • Perform various ad-hoc analyses and additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA regulations.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual obligations.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to research issues and propose solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities along with excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Costpoint and EPM is preferred.

Work Environment:
This position is fully remote, and HomeSafe Alliance will provide the necessary equipment. Employees are required to have high-speed internet access.
