Job Summary

The University of Central Florida is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Specialist to join our Facilities Operations Maintenance Team One (F&S). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain common areas, including restrooms, sinks, showers, toilets, and entryways
  • Vacuum and sweep floors, stairwells, and other areas
  • Perform surface cleaning, including dusting, wiping, and scrubbing of furniture, walls, and equipment
  • Remove trash and recycling from designated areas
  • Perform light maintenance activities, such as restroom dispenser repairs and drain cleaning
  • Shampoo and extract carpeted areas and upholsteries
  • Refinish flooring through stripping, waxing, and buffing
Requirements
  • Completion of 9th grade or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ year of previous work experience in a custodial or similar role
  • Ability to use small and large tools required for essential tasks
  • Experience with standard office software applications and devices for work order systems
  • Adaptable to work assignments and flexible for urgent trade requirements
  • Ability to comprehend safety guidelines and use approved chemicals
  • Capable of operating a fleet vehicle as necessary
