Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Southern Lehigh School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Repair and maintain machinery, plumbing, and electrical wiring and fixtures
  • Maintain and repair miscellaneous building hardware, including chairs, tables, and door hardware
  • Paint interior and exterior building surfaces and equipment
  • Administer a work safety program to ensure compliance with district policies and regulations
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program and conduct routine work orders for various equipment
  • Maintain inventory and records of necessary district supplies
  • Assist with district asset inventory, tagging, and disposition of excess/surplus equipment
  • Assist the custodial staff with chemical and supply ordering and inventory
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties for the district
Requirements:
  • A High School diploma or GED is required
  • A minimum of two (2) years trade school certificate emphasizing HVAC, electrical, life safety, and building controls systems is preferred
  • A valid Driver's License is required; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in school, commercial, or industrial facilities maintenance and repair is required
Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for this position include standing, bending, lifting, reaching, and climbing, as well as atypical functions such as pushing, pulling, and moving equipment. The candidate will also operate specialized equipment and work in varied weather conditions.

Compensation:

FLSA NON-EXEMPT: $24.00-$28.00 per hour, inclusive of healthcare and retirement benefits per the Wage & Benefits Agreement for Custodial & Maintenance Employees.
