Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement Manager to join our team at Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency. This full-time role will be responsible for leading the coordination and collaboration of health information, inpatient clinical documentation, and inpatient coding within our systems to ensure an effective and consistent reflection of care provided while ensuring compliance, quality, and financial viability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct the hospital billing, inpatient coding, and clinical documentation improvement teams.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for clinical documentation improvement and inpatient coding.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CMS regulations, Local Medicare Carrier Review Policies, and The Joint Commission.
  • Abstract and compile data to measure and improve provider medical record documentation.
  • Develop and maintain budget for the hospital billing, coding, and CDI department.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physician leaders, and administrative leaders to ensure accurate and consistent documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, business, or healthcare administration.
  • Three years of healthcare management experience with supervisory/management responsibilities.
  • Three years of experience working with documentation to meet quality, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing or other healthcare field.
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record functionality and 3M Coding Reimbursement products.
