Objective:
To act as the Global Warehousing expert, facilitating the integration of systems, personnel, and processes.

Lead the assessment and, where applicable, the deployment of innovative global warehousing technologies and material handling equipment (MHE).

This role is grounded in traditional Industrial Engineering principles while encouraging the application of technology to explore potential solutions. Propel continuous enhancement across all adidas group distribution centers.

Primary Responsibilities:


Diagnose and assess challenges, developing solutions for issues related to production, layout, internal logistics, utilization, packaging material efficiency, and operational methodologies through established industrial engineering practices.

Identify and analyze facility limitations and opportunities for enhancement.
Offer technical expertise for the design and optimization of automated, semi-automated, and manual distribution centers.
Implement strategies to minimize operational expenses and reduce cost per unit.

Advise on methods to enhance worker productivity and minimize material and utility waste, including restructuring job responsibilities, reorganizing workflows, relocating workstations and equipment, and acquiring new equipment.

Provide technological expertise and solutions to the US East Coast DTC community.
Spot opportunities for standardization and the exchange of best practices across distribution centers.

Conduct feasibility analyses for various initiatives to assess the value of investments and provide financial justification for capital allocations.

Develop business cases.

Make informed recommendations for investments in new technologies and efficiency improvements within warehouse operations, encompassing decision-making capabilities, workplace safety, and customer service standards.

Present and advocate for recommendations to all management levels.
Provide leadership and track milestones on distribution center projects, including retrofits and new facility designs.
Act as an external consultant to warehouse operations, serving as a change agent for the business. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
Accountable for leading capital projects from initial conception to final acceptance.

Key Relationships:
Internal – Distribution center management, GIT (WMS/WCS), and other Global Operations departments.
External - Relevant outside vendors as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in applying recognized industrial engineering techniques to yield measurable results.
Capable of leading teams through direct reporting as well as matrix relationships.
Adept at identifying, evaluating, and formulating project solutions and recommendations.
Exhibits a high degree of self-management and personal motivation to enhance processes.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze intricate processes and drive positive transformation.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
Action-oriented and solution-focused team player.
Strong communication and presentation abilities with the capacity to influence across all management levels.
Thorough understanding of improvement methodologies such as SIX SIGMA, Kaizen, 5S, and Theory of Constraints.
Comprehensive knowledge of work measurement programs.

Required Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Over 5 years of experience in a distribution center setting.
A proven track record in Material Handling design, including sortation, conveyor systems, racking, and implementations.
Experience with Manhattan WMS and warehouse control interfacing.
Lean Six Sigma experience.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, and MS Project is essential.
Competence in AutoCAD is required.
Fluency in English, both verbal and written; multilingual abilities are a plus.
