General Role Overview:

As a Junior Field Engineer, you will deliver Technical Advisory Services (TAS) to facilitate the installation and commissioning of projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commission AC and DC drive systems and/or control software to align with design performance standards.
  • Optimize closed loop regulators through tuning to guarantee peak equipment performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in intricate control systems.
  • Design, configure, and validate system software and hardware to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Collect relevant information from authorized sources to evaluate project requirements pertaining to your assigned scope.
  • Provide consistent, precise, and thoughtful commissioning status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the client witness system acceptance testing for your designated scope.
  • Propose enhancements to commissioning procedures to elevate system performance.
  • Suggest software or hardware advancements to the engineering team.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety qualifications relevant to assigned tasks and comply with both company and client safety protocols.
  • Educate client personnel on system maintenance and operation to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
  • Plan and implement special projects to support the business unit as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completion of coursework, labs, and projects focusing on electrical power systems, control system theory, supervisory software development, database design/management, software engineering, robotics, or mechatronics.
  • Proficiency in personal computer hardware and software.
  • Relevant experience through co-op, internship, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibited strong personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Established successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75%, sometimes with limited notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (MSME) with coursework in control automation.
  • Research project or thesis in electrical power systems, control system theory, software engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or AC/DC motor drives.
  • Experience as a research assistant, intern, or co-op in related fields.
