Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Parish Life Coordinator to join our team at the Archdiocese of San Antonio. This role will provide essential support to our parishes, working closely with pastors and parish leaders to improve their relationship with the Pastoral Ministry Center.
About the Role
- This position requires a strong understanding of the Catholic Church's teachings and practices, as well as excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with internal and external constituents.
- You will be responsible for responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and connecting parishes with relevant Archdiocesan entities, while maintaining accurate records and producing regular reports.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in pastoral ministry, customer service, or a related field, and possess strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- You will work collaboratively with other department members to develop initiatives and opportunities for parish support, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
- This role involves travel (up to 7% local and up to 2% overnight) and requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an extension of the Archbishop's ministry to parishes, providing support and resources to enhance their relationship with the Pastoral Ministry Center.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from pastors and parish leaders via phone, email, and in-person, resolving issues and concerns by providing accurate information and guidance.
- Connect parishes with relevant Archdiocesan entities, acting as a conduit to these entities and providing updates on important initiatives and guidance on how to incorporate them into parish efforts.
- Research and connect with parishes regularly to gather significant updates for meetings with parish leaders and ensure accurate contact information is maintained.
- Collaborate with other department members to discern relevant initiatives to communicate to parishes, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day tasks and projects.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling, data entry, and record-keeping, and assist in planning and executing initiatives, such as pastoral council training and parish leadership formation.
- Stay informed and provide updates by attending the annual new pastor orientation, connecting with office stakeholders on organizational changes and parish initiatives, and consistently documenting constituent interactions and producing regular reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Ministries or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years' experience in pastoral ministry, customer service, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (or proficiency in another language).
- Working knowledge of Catholic Church teachings, especially the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Church documents.
- Experience with computer and management software (Microsoft Office 365 suite and Asana preferred).
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
