About the Role

The City of Bellevue is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the Janitorial Maintenance Aide 2 position. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our park facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, as well as cleaning restrooms, showers, and drinking fountains.
  • Operate hand-held power tools and related maintenance equipment to perform tasks such as graffiti removal and minor equipment repairs.
  • Respond to special cleaning requests and assist with general maintenance and clean-up of park facilities.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper chemical use procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and respond to customers in a courteous and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with preferred maintenance experience.
  • Valid Washington driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to learn to operate safely the equipment and machinery necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  • Basic mechanical skills and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment and perform general cleaning activities.
  • Work is performed using potentially hazardous chemicals and/or equipment, and requires moderate physical effort in manipulating equipment.
