Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical - Oncology Unit at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan patient care, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, taking into account developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies.
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department, contributing to the development of best practices and quality initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Service and Pastoral Care to support and provide families with emotional and end-of-life resources, facilitating a dignified end-of-life experience.
Requirements
  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required. BSN is preferred.
  • ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred.
