We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer, Product Development to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our product development team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and launch of new plastic labware products.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design activities, including developing product requirements, concepts, and analysis, product verification, and sustaining activities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, process development engineers, product managers, and project leaders to drive innovation and implement new design technology.
- Develop and maintain engineering design standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to drive innovation, implement new design technology, and develop best engineering practices.
- Present work and results at technical design reviews and play a meaningful role in projects with strong technical leadership.
- Seek out new technologies and extract value for our products and manufacturing processes.
- Complete tolerance stack-up analysis and design simulations, including FEA.
- Make arithmetic computations using standard formulas, calculate dimensions and tolerances, and perform prototype testing.
- Use SolidWorks to develop solid models that achieve design requirements using best design practices and industry design standards.
- Engage with our existing on-market product portfolio and enable them to continue to meet customer, regulatory, and manufacturing needs through sustaining activities.
- Minimum of 7 years of product development experience in a related field, such as Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- Experience with mechanical drafting standards and CAD.
- Strong proficiency with analysis methods.
- Proven track record of applying problem-solving tools and making data-driven decisions.
- Proven technical leadership.
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% of the time).
- Creative, innovative, and critical thinking.
