We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer, Product Development to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of new plastic labware products from concept to launch.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop product requirements, concepts, and analysis
- Lead design activities, including product verification and sustaining activities
- Present work and results at technical design reviews
- Seek out new technologies and extract value for our products and manufacturing processes
- Build engineering design standards and role model usage
- Complete tolerance stack-up analysis and design simulations, including FEA
- Develop solid models that achieve design requirements using best design practices and industry design standards
- Engage with our existing on-market product portfolio and enable them to continue to meet customer, regulatory, and manufacturing needs through sustaining activities
- Minimum of 7 years of product development experience
- Experience with mechanical drafting standards and CAD
- Strong proficiency with analysis methods
- Proven track record of applying problem-solving tools and making data-driven decisions
- Proven technical leadership
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% of the time)
- Creative, innovative, and critical thinking
